At ECO this week students learned about the life cycle of the brook trout, colored birch bark fish with chalk and then did a catch and release activity which ended with us releasing the fish into the pond.
During Forest Choice, students enjoyed making rock paint, whittling sticks with peelers, and playing in the mud kitchen. (see pictures below!)
We will be out for ECO again on Monday. It will be our final ECO Celebration! The weather is expected to be cooler and wet. Please make sure your child has appropriate clothing / shoes / jackets.
Next week students will do a meet and greet with the first grade teachers! Elmore students will visit Elmore school on Monday and the rest of the students will meet teachers on Wednesday. The first grade teachers will come to our classrooms to meet the students and students will have an opportunity to ask questions about first grade. On Thursday we will tour first grade classrooms. Students will find out who their teachers will be over the summer.
Friday is the annual end of year BBQ. Students who get school lunch will be treated to a BBQ with a choice of burgers, hotdogs, and chicken, and a variety of salads and fruit. If the weather is nice, we will eat outside. During the afternoon we will be participating in Field Days. It will be our last spirit day for Kindergarten students. Students are encouraged to wear Green and Gold!
Our Kindergarten Celebration is Tuesday, June 12 from 1:30 - 2:40 in the Art Room. One parent is planning to bring pretzels and a drink. I'm still looking for cupcakes, fruit, another drink, cups and plates. Please let me know if you can bring an item to share (for our class and family members).
