Read aloud's this week included The Hat by Jan Brett, and The little Red Hen by Paul Galdon. We are using these books to work on comprehension skills. Students are learning about who the character's are, character development, story settings, and main events. We also read The Mitten again and had fun acting out the story using props. On Friday, made their own mitten and colored animals to retell the story.

In math we worked on concepts of equal, more than and less than, by creating equal sets and sets that were 1 more than, or 1 less than. I assessed all students on counting and writing numbers. To be considered on target for the end of the trimester (March 9th), students need to be able to count to 100 and write numbers to 20.
Our theme is Animals in the Winter. Students are learning how Vermont animals survive winters.
