Read alouds included The Three Bears by Paul Galdon, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears retold by Jan Brett.
We competed module 3 in our math program; comparing quantities and numbers.
Next week we will be planning and creating our 100th day projects.
On Friday talked about our scholarly habits; Empathy (and Kindness) and Collaboration. Students created painting which will be hung with other students paintings to create one art piece (Collaborative Art). The image is a cand with a heart on it which connects to other hands when hung together. The image represents working together and being kind to one another and showing empathy for others. We hope to hang these around the school to remind others to be kind to each other.
Reminders:
The 100th day is Tuesday Feb 6th. This will be a Pajama Day (spirit day).
We will Celebrate Valentine's Day On Wednesday, February 14th. Students are invited to bring in Valentines to give to classmates. Please keep in mind that if your child is bringing Valentine's, they should bring one for each classmate. Students should be encouraged to write their own Valentine's (who it is to and who it is from), as this is great writing practice for students.
I will send home a list of names this week.
If there is parent who would like to volunteer to bring in cookies or cupcakes for Valentine's Day, please let me know!
