May 11

We are in our final weeks of our school year, but our work is far from over!

This week we completed our math unit on composing and decomposing numbers 1-10.  Our next unit will focus on 10 and tens and some more ones (teen numbers).

In literacy we have been segmenting and blending to read and spell words with consonant digraphs.  We learned four new sight words (no, he, she, said) and read a new sight word book.
Students are finishing up their animal reports and getting illustrations completed.  We are excited to share these with you at our end of year celebration on June 11th.
Next week we will begin our persuasive writing unit.

We are wrapping up our Force and Motion Unit.  The remainder of the year will be spent on Earth Systems (weather and the effects of the sun on the earth).

Don't forget!  Our Art show and Concert are Wednesday, May 15th from 5-7 pm.  Students will perform at 5:30.  We will begin gathering for our performance at 5:15 in the gym.

We have ECO on Friday, May 17th.  Our focus will be Force and Motion with and Animal Olympic theme.

Stuffy Day! We have earned a Stuffy Day and children may bring one stuffed animal to school on Monday, May 13th!

Wishing all the Mom's a very Happy Mother's Day!
